The Mike Bender Golf Academy is one of the most successful golf training centers in the world. Our full-service academy is known for the highest quality training and lesson programs for every level of golfer from beginners to PGA and LPGA Tour champions.

 

Academy owner, Mike Bender, is ranked among the Top Five Greatest Teachers in America by Golf Digest Magazine. He is also the 2009 PGA of America National Teacher of the Year.

 

Under his guidance, the academy offers a full array of programs from Get Golf Ready for beginners to group clinics for various skill levels, to our famous Junior Champions program that has sent more than 70 junior golfers to college on golf scholarships.

 

Bender’s new Mike Bender Elite Golf Academy offers competitive juniors a world-class, full-time training program while they attend Lake Mary Preparatory School. This program is the only one of its kind in the world where juniors have access to one of America’s top five teachers on an almost daily basis.

 

The academy is also home to one of Golf Magazine’s Top 25 Golf Schools in America and we pride ourselves in offering completely customized golf schools for any number of participants.

 

When it comes to equipment, the academy has a full-service clubfitting and club repair operation that utilizes the TrackMan radar to collect the best possible data on each individual’s swing to determine the best possible fit in your next set of clubs.

 

As Bender has achieved worldwide recognition as a teacher who gets students to make significant improvement in their games, golf’s top players have sought out his advice. Zach Johnson, 2007 Masters Champion and six-time winner on the PGA Tour, has trained with Mike since Johnson was launching his professional career on the mini-tours more than a decade ago. LPGA four-time tournament winner Seon Hwa Lee also has worked with Mike for many years. More recently, PGA Tour veterans, including Jonathan Byrd, Robert Damron and two-time U.S. Open champion Lee Janzen, have put their faith in Mike. All told, Bender has helped more than two-dozen PGA, Champions and LPGA Tour professionals with their games.

 

Many of these professionals have a high comfort level with Mike because they know he has been in their shoes. Bender was a three-time NCAA All-American (1978-1980) and two-time NCAA Division III individual champion (1979-1980) before spending three seasons on the PGA Tour from 1987-89. He began teaching after leaving the Tour and has been teaching in Lake Mary since 1991.

 

Bender is also well known for his creation of the MEGSA Perfect Practice Equipment, a revolutionary training station that is used by thousands of amateurs and top professionals. Golfers may purchase MEGSA training memberships by the month to use these unique tools to improve their games at Magnolia Plantation.

 

The Academy’s Director of Instructor, Cheryl Anderson is the 2006 LPGA National Teacher of the Year and the 2007 Metropolitan New York PGA Section Teacher of the Year and has been training under Bender since the mid-90s. She is also one of the first 10 certified members of the Certified Golf Coaches Association.
